Follows in the footsteps of the classic Derby-style basketball shoe-design. The canvas is coarsely woven with a loom that is used to weave Kurume kasuri textile. The cloth that has been dyed Japanese indigo at thread-stage will develop its character the more it is walked in. The footbed is made with naturally-breathing cork. Basketball shoe-design is used for the outer sole for a better grip. It is daily wear with beauty, comfort, and durability, due to the vulcanizing method that is done by hand.
「DOEK BASKET」は外羽根式のバスケットシューズのデザインを採用。特定の主張となるようなものを無くし、素材とそれらを最大限生かすことだけを考えました。主に使用するキャンバスには、久留米絣の織機で織った目の粗いものを。糸から染めた藍染めは履き込むほどに生地の表情が育ってきます。フットベッドには、天然の通気性を持った素材であるコルクを、アウトソールには滑りにくい様、バスケットシューズ特有の意匠が施してあるものを採用しました。丹誠な手仕事によるヴァルカナイズ製法は、美しさ、履きやすさ、耐久性において、いまの暮しに必要十分な日用品を生み出します。
